Chat with Papi

3:12 PM Papi: Yo.

me
: yo
sounds like they had pretty good days

Papi
: Yay

me
: although becca evidently flipped some kids off
3:13 PM she got in trouble

Papi
: ?? Does she even know what that means?

me
: ms. cook believed her when she said she didn't know what it means
she asked me when we got home

Papi
: Ms Cook believed her? Wow

me
: yeah, surprisingly enough.
I said it means "I hate you" and it's very very rude
then becca wrote me a note apologizing for making the gesture to me

Papi
: Ummm don't say it means I hate you, or she will start flipping everyone off.
3:14 PM
me
: yeah, but how do I explain the other? "What does 'fuck you' mean, Momma?"

Papi
: good point

  2. First she sticks out her tongue, now it's her middle finger! Where DOES she learn such manners!! Just be glad she's not a boy...I hear they get the elementary equivalent of jail time for flashing another student your wanker...no questions asked!

  3. These are kind of tales that make me wish we had kids. I can hear myself, and the phone calls from the school, now: "It means the same as screw you, honey. It's not very nice but sometimes very necessary."

  4. HOBAC, you would be so much fun in a teacher conference. Are you busy Wednesday morning?

  5. Hi,

Not a comment about your post (except that I've always thought you were very sharp and funny when I've popped over to see what you had to say), but a question: whatever happened to Soletrain, he who wrote The Last Shall Be First? I've been curious.

    Thanks,

    Evan

  6. Soletrain is a fantastic writer; unfortunately, he is also a lazy sack of shit. I've forwarded your comment to him in an effort to spur productivity. As you've probably noticed, his blog has been dormant; as far as I know, he isn't writing anywhere else.

  7. His blog was fantastic, no? Perhaps it's time to get out the sharper sticks.
