How much do I love Erik Spiekermann? "I just like looking at type. Some people get a kick out of looking at girls' bottoms..."

LOVE this sweet video.
Over six years, StoryCorps put up booths where people could interview each other about anything. This one, animated by StoryCorps, is a twelve-year-old boy with Asperger's Syndrome interviewing his mom about what it's like to raise him.

Chocolate wine. Yes, it's good. AND GOOD FOR YOU.
I want someone to try it on Cocoa Pebbles and report back to me.

This weekend Becca got to ride around on a Rhino with cousin Reilly and pick wild blackberries. [Not pictured: bare feet.]
Emmet got to shoot a pellet rifle for the first time with Grandaddy. My dad put a straight pin in the side of a cardboard box on the burn pile; Emmet hit it dead on from 35 feet. Little man's almost ready for the Royal Army -- as soon as he's not afraid to go to the bathroom by myself.
I had a great Mother's Day. Emmet brought me breakfast in bed (Pop-Tarts). I got to spend quality time with my family. Pimm's Cups plus boiled shrimp and crab bisque for lunch.
But now I know why I have to keep a blog: so I'll have proof that I did something with my children while they were young besides lie in bed eating bonbons.
We made compost cookies. [Jen, you should try these -- you make a regular cookie base (sugar, butter, eggs, flour, etc.) and add your favorite "mix-ins," some sweet and some salty. The kids chose cocoa krispies, M&Ms, Cinnamon Life, Heath bar chunks and pretzels for their cookies. Next time I might substitute Crisco for a little bit of the butter so they won't spread as much.]
