What mamacita is...
During a THREE-AND-A-HALF HOUR wait at the doctor's office yesterday. Did you know you can get HPV in your mouth?
I have to say, I didn't love it. Dolly's voice is as beautiful as ever, but the music is very synthetic pop. When Dolly's voice -- or pop music -- is stripped of its context, the resulting album suffers. This post brought to you by Pitchfork and Kraft, the makers of Velveeta Cheese.
If that's your sort of thing, though, I should point out that you can get three bonus tracks if you order the CD from Cracker Barrel.

Love the Wire. I can't keep track of who anyone is, but it's just so gritty and real. Fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteDolly and synthetic pop sounds kinda strange. Does it sound like "Islands in the Stream?" That wasn't my favorite. We've got Dolly Parton with Porter Wagoner on heavy rotation at the Roddy House. Dolly Rules!
ReplyDeleteNext time you get HPV in your mouth I hope the doctor will see you sooner.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the wire. I'm actually going to try to read the book that it's based on. It may take me 4 years to get through though.
ReplyDeleteMy fave The Wire, I still haven't watched the first season. I know it's gotta be good.
ReplyDeletePLEASE don't judge Baltimore by The Wire!!! Read my blog and find out that there are reallllly nice parts of the city!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHa -- don't worry, PD, I think Baltimore must be very pretty. And anyplace with crabcakes is okay by me.
